Scholarship Amount
Depends on the scheme. The Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship for SC students reimburses full tuition and exam fees and pays a maintenance allowance. The Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojana (EBC) pays 50% of tuition and exam fees. Check the scheme page on MahaDBT for the exact amount.
Eligibility
- Domicile of Maharashtra.
- Studying in a government or government-aided institution in Maharashtra, in a course covered by the scheme.
- Belongs to the category the scheme is for (SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, SBC, EBC, minority, persons with disability, etc.).
- Family income within the limit of the scheme. For example, Rs 2.5 lakh for Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship for SC students, and up to Rs 8 lakh for OBC/VJNT/SBC and EBC fee freeship schemes.
- Not taking any other scholarship for the same course at the same time.

- Aadhaar card
- Maharashtra domicile certificate
- Income certificate
- SSC and HSC marksheets
- Caste certificate and caste validity certificate, where applicable
- Fee receipt and college bonafide certificate
- CAP allotment letter (for professional courses)
- Hostel certificate, if applicable
- Scanned photo and signature
How to Apply
- Open the MahaDBT portal and register with your Aadhaar and mobile number.
- Log in and complete your profile (personal, address, income, education, hostel details).
- Use “All Schemes” to see the schemes you are eligible for and apply.
- Upload documents and submit. Your college verifies the application online.
- Track the status from your MahaDBT login.
Tips Before You Apply
- Apply a few days before the last date. The portal is slow in the final week.
- Your name, date of birth and gender must match Aadhaar exactly, or face authentication fails.
- After submitting, ask your school or college to verify the form on NSP. An unverified form is rejected.
- NSP registration is free. Do not pay anyone who promises a scholarship.
